THIS BOOK TAKES THE READER on a journey from the diplomatic game between the great Empires, through the battlefields of their confrontations in the 18th and early 19th centuries, up to the Greek struggle and its falls and glories in 1821. One may wonder whether the echo of these events resonates down to the present times and affects the current affairs in the broader area in which Greece is part of the status quo. The Emergence of a State, Greece 1821-1832 is a revised edition in English of the Greek original which was presented in the Greek State Television ERT2, in the programme of V. Vasilikos, on the 25th of March 2019 on the occasion of the annual celebration of the Revolution.

Ο Nikitas Simos has carried out research into the Greek diaspora and organised talks highlighting the history of the Greek communities in Vienna, Trieste and Odessa. Ιn relation to recent Greek migration he has spoken and written on brain drain from Greece. He participates in analyses of international relations in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean, a subject on which he regularly writes. He served as executive director in multinational and Greek international companies and has been a member of management institutes and strategic planning associations. Nikitas Simos is an economist and holds a Ph.D in Finance from Bath University, UK. He maintains that he did not judge the time of his birth correctly.
