VASILIS PAPPAS "THE OTHER GREECE" (Approach to the work through the eyes of Panos Kourvas) Vasilis Pappas, through his lyrics, introduces us to the chamber of art, to his poetic garden, the one fenced with the glories and legends of another Greece. He interprets the spiritual events of a prehistoric era through his given learning. With early lyrics he renews our poetic tradition and adapts it to something new. He is the active man, who with his syllabic rhythm builds the personal staff of the reservoir with elegant craftsmanship, in order to accumulate the secret seeds from our ancestral talents. As if found in the constellation of the Odyssey, he writes in Pythian speech and speaks to us, holding the stone tablets with the divinely inspired commands, presenting his spiritual offering. The descriptive energy of his lyrics is manifested expressively and in a sublime way he vividly embraces the linguistic types, stating a few and suggesting more. He concentrates a past era with his psychic senses, where their distillation becomes spirit, music and beautiful speech. His pen seems like a seven-string, which with the musical sting of creation explores the rhyming rocks of Greek poetry. With uniform formations he floods us with his golden verses and we, with bagels in hand, welcome his strong wind ready to travel. We listen cheerful words with the sounds of the chanting verses, which captivate the hearing and caress the sight. With the utensil of the courageous researcher and armed with the supplies of knowledge, he fills us with hope, shines the light again on those cobblestones, where hymns are sung and the god-scattered people aspire to ascend to the middle of the Greek world. The poet with his linguistic sense becomes a meticulous gold knitter. With unattainable mastery and a penetrating look he captures the fluttering of his imagination and his complex inventions. Browsing, you see the strength of the book, which looks like a living literary gospel, full of rhyming dew verses from a pre-eternal dictionary. It is the work of a giver of joy, a true work of art, which expands to seduce the reader's mind and travel him more freely to "another Greece".
